STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (1-4) dropped a pair of contests at East Stroudsburg (7-1) on Saturday.
GAME ONE – L, 9-1
The game was scoreless until the third inning when the Warriors took a 3-0 lead on a three-run double. Freshman Ryan Sawyer put the Rams on the board in the bottom of the frame, knocking in fellow rookie Ryan Coyle with a base hit.
ESU drove in a run with a triple in the fourth and hit a two-run homer in the fifth to make it 6-1. The Warriors' final runs came in the sixth with a trio of RBI singles.
GAME TWO – L, 12-0
ESU scored runs in each of the first six innings, including five home runs, and went ahead 11-0. The Warriors added a final tally in the eighth. Jefferson had three runners reach scoring position, including two at third base, but could not push across a run.
The Rams play a twin bill against West Chester at Maple Zone Sports Village on Sunday, February 23 at 12 p.m.
