ASTON, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (1-6) fell to West Chester (3-1) in a pair of games on Sunday at Maple Zone Sports Village.
GAME ONE – L, 10-3
The Rams took a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run shot by junior Efrain Santiago. West Chester got on the board in the third with an RBI single. Jefferson restored a two-run advantage in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Cole Kriger.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Golden Rams pushed across four runs to take a 5-3 advantage. Two runs came in on a pair of walks and two scored on a base hit. WCU added three runs in the fifth on two errors and an RBI single. West Chester's last two runs came across in the sixth.
GAME TWO – L, 15-2
The Golden Rams tallied two runs apiece in the first two innings for a 4-0 advantage. Santiago recorded a sac fly in the second to get Jefferson within three. However, West Chester broke the game open with two runs in the third, three in the fifth and three in the sixth. Santiago drove in another run with a fly out in the sixth for the Rams' final tally. The Golden Rams tacked on three more in the seventh for the final score.
The Rams head to East Stroudsburg for a doubleheader on Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m.
