Caldwell, NJ- The #2 North Division seeded Felician College Falcons (23-6, 14-4 CACC) shocked the two-time defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) champions and #1 South Division Philadelphia University Rams (25-7, 16-1 CACC) 90-77 in overtime in the CACC Semifinals on Friday afternoon at Caldwell College's Newman Center.

The #3 NCAA East ranked Rams will now await word during the NCAA Selection Sunday (3/7) at 9:30 p.m. to see what their seed will be in the NCAA East Regional Tournament, which begins on Saturday (3/14).

PhilaU-led by senior guard Russell Frederick's (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) 21 points and seven assists, was outshot 43%-38% for the contest.  FC's Devon Young led all scorers with 39 points and six rebounds.  The Rams shot just 26% from the free-throw line.

The Rams dominated most of regulation, as two made free-throws from freshman guard Jim Connolly (Harleysville, PA/ Souderton) gave PhilaU a 24-22 at 9:32 in the first half- an advantage they would hold until a 76-76 tie with nine seconds remaining in the game.  Connolly had 13 points and six boards in the contest.

The maroon and grey went on a 27-6 run, keyed by 10 points from sophomore forward Corey Francisco (Woodbridge, NJ/ Monmouth Academy) to make it 45-26 at the half.  Francisco finished with 10 points.

The momentum changed in the second half as FC cut the PhilaU lead to just six (65-59) at the 7:00 mark, on a trey by Antoine Obery.  Obery had 32 points/14 rebounds for the Falcons.

FC's Young hit another trey with nine seconds remaining to tie it 76 and a Frederick layup spun out as the game rolled into overtime.  PhilaU scored just one point in the OT period, as the game was won at the charity stripe with FC going 10-14 in the extra period.

The CACC Men's Basketball Championship will be played tomorrow (Saturday, 3/6) at 4 p.m. as Felician awaits the winner of N#1 Bloomfield v. S#2 Goldey-Beacom.
