Men’s Basketball Shaken 52-49 at West Chester

West Chester, PA- Turnovers were a factor in a tightly contested Philadelphia University (2-3) loss 52-49 at West Chester University (3-1) on Tuesday night in Hollinger Fieldhouse.   PhilaU turned the ball over 11 more times than the host (29-18).  The Rams were led by 13 points and eight rebounds from senior forward Ola Sasona.

PhilaU extended its lead to 32-22 at the half on two made free-throws by junior captain Corey Francisco, who finished the night with 12 points, eight boards and five dishes.

WCU got a game-high from Lance McDowell, with 13 points/eight boards.

The home squad went on an 18-6 spurt to close out the game, breaking a 49 tie at 0:32 with a layup by Eli Daniel and a made free-throw.  PhilaU's Sasona tossed up a desperation trey with one second left, but it would fall short.  PhilaU junior center Temi Adebayo totaled eight points, four boards and five blocks in the contest.

The Rams return to the hardwood after Thanksgiving, on Sunday (11/28) at 3 p.m. in the second portion of a hoops doubleheader at the Gallagher Athletic Center.
