Rams Stopped by Dominican Three Point Shooting, 72-62

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's basketball team (10-7, 5-3 CACC) found themselves playing catchup against the three point shooting by Dominican College (11-8, 7-2 CACC) in a 72-62 loss. The Rams were led by sophomore guard Jim Connolly with 18 points and five boards.

The Rams hold an 8-2 all-time record vs. DC.

Keys to the game included three point shooting (Dominican 10-23 to PhilaU's 6-21) and field goals (Dominican 25-53 to PhilaU's 20-54).

The Rams trailed most of the first half, taking their biggest lead of two several different times. An offensive rebound by senior forward Ola Sasona was turned into a two point jumper by junior center Temi Adebayo. Sasona had nine points, eight boards while Adebayo added 11 points, eight boards and three blocks.  A three point basket by Dominican seconds later would give them the lead for the remainder of the game.

PhilaU trailed at the half 31-27.

Freshman guard Nick Christian burst into the second half making a three point shot from way out and coming up with a layup soon after to bring down Dominican's lead to one.  Christian added 11 points on the night.  A succession of three-point shots by Dominican would extend the lead back to ten.

The Rams look ahead to their next matchup where they travel to Concordia College on Saturday (1/29) at 3:00 p.m.
