NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University freshman forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) has earned the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) men's basketball rookie of the week award for the second straight week from the conference office on Tuesday.
Alexis averaged 21.0 points, while shooting 68.0 percent (17-of-25) from the field, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in a pair of Philadelphia victories last week.
In the Rams' 70-69 win over Kutztown, Alexis netted a game-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. He followed that up with a career-high 25 points while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots in the team's 77-69 triumph against Bridgeport.
He is leading the CACC with a 65.3 field goal percentage, second with 9.8 rebounds per game and 13 blocks, and eighth with 15.8 points per game.
After going 4-1 in its season-opening five-game home stand, Philadelphia travels to Felician for a CACC battle on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 3 p.m.
