PHILADELPHIA –Philadelphia University senior guard Jim Connolly (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) has been named to the 2012-13 Capital One Division II Academic All-District 1 Men's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. District 1 is made up of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the East Coast Conference, and the Northeast-10.
Connolly advances to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-American consideration.
An accounting major with a grade-point average of 3.36, Connolly is fifth in the CACC in made three-pointers (46), seventh in minutes per game (35.7), 10th in free throw percentage (81.5), and 12th in scoring (14.8 ppg). He is leading the team in scoring and made three-pointers.
In his career, Connolly has scored 1,393 points, which is 24th in program history. Last season, he was an All-CACC first team selection as he averaged 17.5 ppg. Connolly was an all-conference second team pick as a sophomore.
Connolly has helped the Rams compile an overall record of 12-6, and lead the CACC's southern division with a conference record of 7-2.
The Rams return to the court for a CACC crossover showdown at Bloomfield on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.
