NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University senior guard Nick Schlitzer (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball co-player of the week by the conference office Monday.
Schlitzer—who shares the award with Dominican's Nick Smith—posted 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steals in two Ram wins.
He opened the week with a career-high 32 points, on 12-of-20 shooting, five assists, three rebounds in a 22-point win over Dominican (N.Y.) on Jan. 19. Two days later, he had 12 points, five rebounds, and one assist to help Philadelphia defeat Georgian Court 72-66.
Schlitzer is leading the team is scoring (17.5 ppg) and free throw percentage (92.5). He is ranked second in the conference in free throw shooting, fifth in scoring, and eighth in made 3-pointers (34).
Philadelphia (12-5, 6-2 CACC) heads to Goldey-Beacom for a CACC contest on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
