PHILADELPHIA (22-7) vs. USCIENCES (24-4)
SETTING THE SCENE: The Philadelphia University men's basketball team takes on the University of the Sciences in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semifinal round match-up on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. in the Gallagher Center. Philadelphia finished third in the southern division, while USciences is the southern division champion. The Devils and Rams are sixth and 10th, respectively, in the NCAA East Region Rankings.

SCOUTING THE RAMS: The Rams are 14-2 in the Gallagher Center this season. All-CACC first team pick Nick Schlitzer is leading Division II in minutes per game (39.9). He is first in the conference in free throw shooting (87.1 percent), third in made field goals (185), and sixth in scoring (17.3 ppg) and made 3-pointers (59). Schlitzer is 15th in school history with 1,644 career points. Derek Johnson, an All-CACC second team selection, is the team's leader scorer with 17.8 ppg, which is third in the conference. He is first in the CACC in made 3-pointers (86), second in free throw shooting (86.9 percent), and fourth in 3-point shooting (39.8 percent). All-CACC second team player Peter Alexis is first in the CACC in blocks (73), second in field goal shooting (60.3 percent), third in rebounding (9.8 per game), and ninth in scoring (15.1 ppg). Alexis has a team-high 17 double doubles. Andre Gibbs is sixth in the CACC in free throw shooting (83.0 percent), and TJ Huggins ranks ninth in steals (44).
HEAD COACH HERB MAGEE: Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee is in his 48th season as the head coach of the Rams. Magee owns a career record of 1007-399. He became the second coach in NCAA men's basketball history to win 1,000 career games on Feb. 7, 2015 against Post. Magee has led the Rams to 27 NCAA Tournaments, including 11 region finals, three national quarterfinals and the 1970 NCAA College Division National Championship. His coaching has helped 12 players earn All-American recognition, including 2007 Daktronics NCAA Division II Player of the Year Christian Burns.
SCOUTING THE DEVILS: The Devils are led by three-time CACC player of the year Garret Kerr. Kerr is leading D-II in field goals made (257) and double doubles (25). He is second in the country in rebounding (12.8 per game) and third in scoring (24.8 ppg). Kerr does not have a double double against the Rams in his last two trips to the Gallagher Center. All-CACC second team selection Sho DaSilva is contributing 13.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 32 blocks. T-John Casiello is second in D-II with a 3.88 assist-to-turnover ratio.
HEAD COACH DAVE PAULEY: Dave Pauley is in his 15th year at the University of the Sciences. The 2014-15 CACC Coach of the Year recorded his 200th career victory on Feb. 24, 2015
