NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) player of the week by the conference office on Monday.
In a 2-1 week for Philadelphia, Alexis put up 18.3 points per game—while shooting 67.8 percent from the floor, a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game, and nine blocks. He started the week with a 14-point, 12-rebound, 3-block performance in a 60-55 loss to the University of the Sciences on Nov. 18. Alexis started the weekend by contributing 18 points, nine rebounds, and a season-high four blocks as the Rams defeated Merrimack 88-78 on Nov. 21. One day later, Alexis had a season-best 23 points—19 in the first half—six rebounds, and two blocks as Philadelphia knocked off defending region champion Southern New Hampshire 67-61.
This season, Alexis is averaging 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He is the CACC leader in blocks (12) and minutes per game (41.0). Alexis also ranks fourth in rebounding, eighth in scoring, and 10th in field goal percentage (55.2).
Philadelphia (4-1, 0-1 CACC) welcomes Georgian Court to the Gallagher Center for a CACC contest on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m.
