DeCicco selected CACC men's basketball player of the week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Jordan DeCicco's (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) hot hand in a pair of Philadelphia University men's basketball victories allowed the sophomore guard to take home his first career Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) player of the week award Monday.

DeCicco shot 63.6 percent (21-of-33) from the field, 68.8 percent (11-of-16) from behind the 3-point line, to average an impressive 27.5 points per game in conference wins against Georgian Court on Dec. 6 and Chestnut Hill on Dec. 10. He also added 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals.

In the Rams' 82-68 win over Georgian Court, DeCicco shot 10-of-16 overall, making five of his six 3-point attempts, for a then-career high 25 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. He came back four days later to pour in a career-high 30 points, on 11-of-17 shooting, dish out five assists, and grab three rebounds as the Rams knocked off the Griffins 90-51.

DeCicco's 30 points are the most by a Ram in a single game this season, surpassing Kaison Randolph's (Trenton, N.J./Pennington Prep) 29-point effort on Nov. 29 at Kutztown.

In a CACC-leading 39.2 minutes per game, DeCicco is recording 15.9 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, 42 assists, 11 steals, and a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is second in the conference in assists, sixth in made 3-pointers (27), eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio, ninth in made field goals (60) and 3-point shooting (42.4 percent), 11th in scoring, and 15th in rebounding.

Philadelphia (7-3, 4-1 CACC)—a winner in three of its last four games—heads to the College of Saint Rose for the East Region Challenge on Dec. 17 and 18. The Rams open the Challenge against the host Golden Knights on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. and then take on Assumption on Dec. 18 at 1 p.m.
