PHILADELPHIA – In a matchup of the top two teams in the CACC South Division, the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's basketball team (16-6, 11-2 CACC) battles Goldey-Beacom (11-12, 9-5 CACC) at the Gallagher Center on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

HOW TO WATCH
Tickets are available at the door. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors/children/outside students with ID. Children under the age of six are free. Jefferson students, staff and faculty with school ID are also free.

A free, live video stream will be available for the contest with play-by-play and color analysis.

THE SERIES
This is the 28th meeting between Jefferson and Goldey-Beacom since 2005. The Rams hold an 18-9 advantage and they are 11-2 at home. The Lightning defeated Jefferson, 85-73 at home on December 19. The Rams won last year's meeting at the Gallagher Center, 72-61.

LAST TIME OUT
In a matchup of the two first-place teams in the CACC, the men made it 11 straight wins with a 78-71 decision over visiting Dominican (N.Y.) (16-5, 11-2 CACC) on Saturday.

It was a tightly-contested game throughout the early portion of the first half. The Chargers had an 11-9 lead at the 12:44 mark when Jefferson embarked on a 14-2 run to take a 23-13 advantage. Freshman Deondre Bourne led the way with seven points. The Rams were ahead by 12 before Dominican tallied the final five points of the frame to make the score 33-26 at halftime.

In the second half, Jefferson was in front by a 44-33 score when the Chargers surged with a 20-8 run to take a 53-52 advantage with 8:40 on the clock. The Rams responded with six consecutive points to regain the lead. Jefferson was up by three when junior DeVaughn Mallory drilled a big three-pointer to make it 65-59 with 2:31 remaining. Dominican made four field goals down the stretch but the Rams were a perfect 11-for-11 from the line to close out the victory.

Bourne notched his first career double-double, recording season highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds. He was 7-for-12 from the floor. Mallory finished with a game-high 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting and nine boards. It was his third 20-point performance in his last four games. Guerra tallied 11 points, five assists and three rebounds.

CACC WEEKLY AWARDS
Bourne was chosen the CACC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. He led the team with 22.5 points per game over two contests. Bourne opened the week with a team-high 20 points on 5-of-12 shooting, 4-of-6 from three, four assists, three rebounds and one block against USciences. He then recorded the first double-double of his career with season highs of 25 points and 11 boards versus Dominican. The rookie was 7-for-12 from the field with a pair of treys and he also added two steals. In addition, junior DeVaughn Mallory was placed on the conference's weekly honor roll for the fifth time.

LOOKING AT GOLDEY-BEACOM
The Lightning have earned victories in three of their last four contests. GBC ranks sixth in Division II in free throw percentage (79.7%) and turnovers forced (19.3), ninth in turnover margin (5.5) and 18th in steals (212). Senior Corey Taite leads the squad in scoring with 19.4 ppg, which is third in the conference. Sophomore Marcellus Livingston and senior Mahir Johnson are also averaging double figures with 15.0 and 14.0 points per game respectively. Freshman Giovanni Jones is grabbing a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game. Taite has drilled 45 three-pointers followed by Livingston with 41.

LOOKING FORWARD
Jefferson opens a three-game road trip on Saturday, February 16 at Concordia (N.Y.). Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Rams topped the Clippers, 96-85 at home in 2017-18.
