Christopher Gulla joined the Jefferson men’s basketball staff in 2017-18 to serve under Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee.
Prior to Jefferson, Gulla spent five seasons as an Assistant Coach at Rutgers University – Camden. In this capacity, Gulla helped lead the Rutgers-Camden program to its first postseason berth since 1976 and best overall record since 2001-02 during the 2014-15 season. Gulla’s tenure at Rutgers allowed him to spend multiple years as a fellow assistant coach with Syracuse basketball legend and Third Overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft, Billy Owens.
Since 2010, Gulla has served as an Assistant Director and Director of Player Development for one of the middle Atlantic region’s largest youth basketball programs: The Basketball Development. In its approximately 20-year history, this organization has helped over 130 players transition from high school to the college basketball court.
Prior to his coaching endeavors, Gulla played high school basketball at Eastern High School in Voorhees, N.J. and was ranked among the top 25 scorers in South Jersey (17.8 ppg) during his senior campaign. He went on to play four seasons at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. under Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame head coach Jerry Rickrode. Graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and minor in Economics, Gulla’s maintenance of a 3.80 GPA earned him four-consecutive seasons on the Middle Atlantic conference All American honor Roll.
In May 2013, Gulla graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Camden with a Juris Doctor degree.
While at Rutgers, he served as the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and founded the school's First and Second Annual Sports Law Symposiums. Behind Gulla's leadership, Rutgers-Camden attracted numerous high profile speakers and quickly emerged as host of one of the country's finest annual sports law discussions. Prior to law school, Gulla spent time working directly under Leon Rose of CAA Sports, an NBA agent who has spent time representing talents such as LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson and Joel Embiid.
Licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Gulla currently works as an Associate Attorney in the Cherry Hill, N.J. office of Mintzer, Sarowitz, Zeris, Ledva & Meyers, LP.
