Gonzalez-Adams leads men’s golf at Griffin Invitational

AVONDALE, Pa. – Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell) finished in a tie for third to lead the Philadelphia University men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Griffin Invitational at the Inniscrone Golf Club to end the fall on Tuesday.

Thanks to Gonzalez-Adams' round of 76 (+6)—his best of the fall season, the Rams had a combined team score 330 (+50) in the six-team field.

Nicholas Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) turned in a scorecard of 80 (+10) to end his day in a deadlock for the ninth position. Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) and Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) each had a round of (+87) to tie for 16th and complete Philadelphia's scoring.

Kyle Zeller (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) rounded out the Rams' lineup with the 19th-place score of 88 (+18).

Led by Troy Miller's winning score of even-par 70, Wilmington won the team title with a score of 302 (+22). Nyack had a score of 312 (+32) to take second, while host Chestnut Hill was third with a 322 (+42).
