MONROE, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's golf team took third place in the rain-shortened Charger Classic, hosted by Dominican College at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge.

The Rams completed the four-team event—which was shortened from 36 to 18 holes after rain washed out Friday's round—with a team score of 337 (+49).

Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) and Nicholas Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) both had a round of 83 (+11) to lead the Rams and finish as part of a five-way tie for 11th-place. Austin Regan (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) was a shot back of his Ram teammates with an 84 (+12) to end his day deadlocked for 16th.

Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) was the final golfer to contribute to the Philadelphia team score as he came in 22nd place as he shot an 87 (+15). Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell) shot 94 (+22) to finish 25th.

The host Chargers won the team title with a score of 321 (+33), two shots better than runner-up Felician University—who had a 323 (+35). Chestnut Hill posted a score of 339 (+51) to finish fourth.

Nyack College's Eliot Wakefield shot 73 (+1) to claim the individual crown.
