WALLINGFORD, Pa. -- The Philadelphia University men's golf team came home in second place at the Swarthmore Tri-Match played Wednesday par-70 Springhaven Country Club.
Led by top-five finishes from Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell) and Nicholas Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), Philadelphia posted a team score of 331, five strokes behind host and event winner Swarthmore College. Neumann University was third after recorded a score of 347.
Gonzalez-Adams had the Rams' best round of the day as he carded an 81 (+11) to take fourth place overall. Nguyen finished one spot behind Gonzalez-Adams with a round of 82 (+12).
Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J../Hackettstown) claimed sixth place after completing his day with an 83 (+13). Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) was the Rams' final scorer with an 85 (+15) to take eighth place.
Austin Regan (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) ended up in a tie for the ninth position with a score of 86 (+16).
Swarthmore's Yousa Razvi won the individual title as he posted the first-place score of 76 (+6).
Philadelphia returns to the ACE Club to host St. Joseph's (N.Y.) and Dickinson in a tri-match on Monday, April 10.
