Jefferson Men’s Golf: 2017-18 Season in Review

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's golf team played in 12 matches with 15 rounds in the 2017-18 season.

The CACC Championship tournament moved to the fall for the first time in 2017-18. Played at Back Creek Golf Club in Middletown, Del., the Rams finished tied for eighth with a total two-round score of 323-348—671 (+103). Junior Jayson Gonzalez-Adams was the top finisher for the Rams at 79-83—162 (+20, t-27th). Jefferson ran into a bit of bad luck when one of its top golfers inadvertently signed the wrong scorecard on day two, pushing the team to tie for eighth in the nine-team tournament. The Rams hosted the 7th Annual Jefferson Golf Classic from The ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa. on April 17 as 12 schools participated in the event. Jefferson had a blue squad and a gold squad compete. Jefferson (Blue) finished seventh with a score of 338 while Jefferson (Gold) placed 10th with a team score of 351. Sophomore Eric Mahoney turned in the top round for the Rams at 79 (+7). Felician (317) won the tournament.

Freshman Jordan Donmoyer recorded his first career hole-in-one on #14 at The ACE Club on Oct. 22, 2017 in a tri-match against Chestnut Hill and Neumann.

Senior Nicholas Nguyen owned the team's top score in 10 of 15 rounds on the campaign. Gonzalez-Adams turned in the top card for three rounds while Mahoney and Donmoyer each did it once.
