PhilaU Men’s Soccer Goes Distance in 3-2 Win

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's soccer team (3-1, 2-0 CACC) improved their record with a 3-2 win over the Concordia College Clippers (0-4, 0-1 CACC) on Saturday afternoon at Ravenhill Field.

The game-winner came at 64:11 on a Mark Holman goal, assisted by senior midfielder Ryan Purnell.  Purnell had both goals earlier in the contest (fourth and 19th minute). 

CC scored at 31:13 to break their silence and go to 2-1, and added their final goal in the 70th minute.

In goal, PhilaU sophomore goalie Alex Heston had two saves, while CC's Paul Wavell made nine stops in 90 minutes of action.

Next time, PhilaU travels to Wilmington University on Wednesday (9/14) for a 3:30 p.m. match.
