PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (10-3-1, 8-0-1 CACC) scored four unanswered goals to top the Bloomfield Bears (9-3-1, 6-2-1 CACC) in a battle of the top two teams in the CACC by a final of 4-2 from Ravenhill Field on Saturday.
Jefferson remains undefeated in conference play with the win, having only allowed seven goals in nine CACC matchups.
Jefferson trailed 2-1 going into the half.
The Rams were awarded a penalty kick in the 60th minute, one that senior Seiji Rose converted to even the score 2-2.
Senior Pedro Neto scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 83rd minute in the crunch time of the conference affair. Redshirt junior Andrew Sauers fed Neto on the goal line, which the senior was able to put past the Bloomfield keeper, 3-2.
Junior Jason Rocha sealed the victory for the Rams with 20 seconds remaining in regulation. Rocha and sophomore Myles-Jordan Senior-Campbell got past the Bloomfield backline and only had the keeper to beat, 4-2.
The match featured seven second-half yellow cards in the physical matchup.
Jefferson led shots, 17-12, and shots on goal, 10-9.
Senior keeper (W, 10-3-1) earned his 10th victory of the season, making seven saves across 90 minutes of action.
Jefferson Men's Soccer returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Chestnut Hill. Action starts at 3:30 p.m.
