PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (11-3-1, 9-0-1 CACC) remained undefeated, holding off Chestnut Hill (4-11-0, 3-8-0 CACC) for a 1-0 shutout road victory on Tuesday.
Senior keeper Ben Sauer (W, 11-3-1) has been in goal for all six of the Rams shutout on the season. He now has 13 in his career after making three saves on 11 shots faced against the Griffins.
Senior Pedro Neto scored the lone goal in the contest, coming in the very first minute on the match's first shot. Redshirt junior Andrew Sauers made a deep throw in to Neto, who scored his second-straight game winning goal. The senior now has four goals on the season while Sauers notched his fourth assist of the campaign. Sauers tallied an earlier assist on a throw in this season against Concordia back October 7.
Nine conference wins is the most for the Rams since 2014 when the squad went 9-2-1 in CACC play. Jefferson still has two regular-season conference matchups remaining with Nyack on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Wilmington on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
Jefferson led shots against Chestnut Hill, 13-11.
