Men’s Soccer Falls Short in 1-0 Battle at West Chester to Open Season

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team dropped a close match on the road to West Chester to begin the 2018 season on Thursday by a final of 1-0 in West Chester, Pa.

After a scoreless first half, West Chester broke through in the 64th minute to take the one-goal advantage.

Jefferson managed four shots in the opening 45 minutes but was held without a shot in the second half. Juniors Myles-Jordan Senior-Campbell and Hunter Dyson each owned a shot on goal for the Rams in the contest.

West Chester earned a major offensive advantage with 11-0 corners on the afternoon.

In his collegiate debut in goal, Jefferson freshman Andrew Menjivar played all 90 minutes with three saves and just the one goal against.
