SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (0-2) fell to the Le Moyne Dolphins (2-0) on Sunday afternoon from Ted Grant Field in Syracuse, N.Y. by a final of 5-1.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after goals in the 17th minute, 22nd minute and 31st minute.
Junior Ian Lake scored the first goal of the season for the Rams in the 32nd minute to cut the lead down to 3-1 heading into halftime.
Le Moyne added two more goals in the second half to win by the 5-1 final. The Dolphin's Marek Weber notched two goals on the day while Joe Falcone recorded two assists.
Jefferson managed five shots on the day from sophomore Theophilus Ijeboi, Lake, sophomore Val Mokrejs, senior Jason Rocha and senior Andrew Sauers. In addition to Lake's, Sauers shot was also on target.
The Rams secured three corner opportunities on the day.
Freshman Andrew Menjivar (L, 0-2) faced eight shots on the day and made three saves.
Jefferson Men's Soccer continues their nonconference slate on the road Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Bloomsburg. Action begins at 7 p.m. from Steph Pettit Stadium in Bloomsburg, Pa.
