NEW HAVEN, Conn. –The Jefferson men's soccer team swept the CACC Men's Soccer weekly awards on Monday morning. Senior Jason Rocha was named the CACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week while freshman Andrew Menjivar was named both the Rookie of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week. Junior Ian Lake grabbed Defensive Player of the Week honors. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office.
The Rams went 2-0 last week as the squad posted two 3-0 shutout victories. Last Wednesday, Jefferson took down No. 23 Bloomsburg on the road before opening their home last with a conference win over Dominican on Saturday.
JASON ROCHA – CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
-Recorded three goals and one assists on the 2-0 week
-Scored two goals at No. 23 Bloomsburg including the game winner
-Scored the game-winning goal and tallied an assist in the win over Dominican.
ANDREW MENJIVAR – CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK & CACC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
-Posted two 3-0 shutout victories last week over No. 23 Bloomsburg and Dominican
-Started in goal and played all 180 minutes, making five saves
IAN LAKE – CACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
-Scored a goal in the win at No. 23 Bloomsburg
-Helped the back line post two-straight shutouts.
