Men’s Soccer Suffers 3-2 Road Loss to Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (6-5-1, 5-3-1 CACC) suffered a 3-2 conference loss on the road to the Holy Family Tigers (5-9-0, 5-4-0 CACC) from Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, Pa. on Tuesday afternoon.

Holy Family took an early 1-0 lead in the conference affair after scoring in the 6th minute. The Tigers took that lead into halftime while Jefferson managed six shots in the opening 45 minutes.

Jefferson made a goalkeeper switch in the 47th minute as freshman Andrew Menjivar relieved junior transfer Kris Donaldson (L, 3-3-0). Menjivar played the final 43:36, making two saves while allowing two goals.

Holy Family went up 2-0 in the 56th minute as Sean McCormick scored one of his two goals on the day. McCormick followed it up with his second goal five minutes later to put the Tigers up 3-0.

Senior Jason Rocha put the Rams on the board in the 79th minute as he scored his 11th of the year, a figure that is tied for the CACC lead.

Junior Rashaan Robe added the second Jefferson goal in the 89th minute on an assist from freshman Joshua Njoroge. It came as Robe's first goal of 2018 and Njoroge's first collegiate point.

Jefferson took 14 shots on the day compared to Holy Family's seven.
