BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (7-7-2) dropped a nonconference road contest to the LIU Post Pioneers (11-4) on Wednesday afternoon from Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. by a final of 3-1.
LIU Post took the early 1-0 advantage in the 14th minute when Yohance Alexander put one away for the Pioneers.
Senior Jason Rocha tied up the match for Jefferson in the 37th minute as he scored his 13th goal of the campaign on a free kick from the top of the back as he tucked it on the right side of the goal.
A red card was then issued to Jefferson senior Andrew Sauers in the 42nd minute as the Pioneers then converted a penalty kick to regain the edge while the Rams played a man down for the remainder of the game.
Leading 2-1 at the break, the Pioneers went up 3-1 in the 55th minute and kept that two-goal lead for the remainder of the game.
Jefferson managed six shots in the affair with three coming on goal.
Jefferson Men's Soccer closes its regular season with Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 27 from Ravenhill Field at 1 p.m. with Molloy. The Rams will then host a CACC Quarterfinals matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.
