WATERBURY, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-1-0 CACC) opened the CACC schedule with a 2-0 defeat at defending champion Post (2-1-1, 1-0-0 CACC) on Saturday.
The Eagles got a quick goal less than five minutes in to take a 1-0 lead. Jefferson had opportunities with three corner kicks in the opening half but were only able to place two shots on goal.
In the second stanza, Post continued to pressure the Rams, getting off nine shots. The Eagles were able to cash in for an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the 68th minute. Jefferson was challenged by the Post defense, totaling just six shots in the contest.
- Senior Stephen Paul turned away seven shots in the Rams' goal.
- The Rams had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
