LYNDHURST, N.J. – Senior Charlie Livesey scored on a penalty kick in the first overtime period to give the Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (6-7-1, 6-3-0 CACC) a 2-1 victory at Felician (3-11, 2-8-1 CACC) on Saturday night.
The Golden Falcons controlled the first half, totaling 10 shots to just two for the Rams. However, the game remained scoreless at halftime. Livesey broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, sneaking one inside the post off a feed by senior Hunter Dyson.
Felician evened the score in the 66th minute, converting a shot from 18 yards inside the left post. Neither team found the back of the net through the remainder of regulation.
In the first overtime period, neither team had an opportunity until the Golden Falcons were whistled for an infraction inside the box in the 99th minute. Livesey stepped up and buried the PK for his second goal of the night. Senior Stephen Paul turned away four shots in goal for the Rams.
- It was the fourth overtime game of the year for Jefferson and its first victory.
- The win put the Rams in a tie for third place in the CACC.
- Livesey is 4-for-4 on penalty kicks this season.
The Rams take a break from conference play and visit Molloy on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m.
