Men’s tennis falls to West Chester 7-2

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – In its first road test of the 2015-16 season, the Philadelphia University men's tennis team fell to host West Chester, 7-2, in a non-conference match on Thursday afternoon.

The No. 2 doubles tandem of Jacobo Atri (Mexico City, Mexico/Colegio Hebreo Monte Sinai, AC) and Vincent Breer (Heidelberg, Germany/English Institut Heidelberg) picked up Philadelphia's first point of the match with a hard-fought 8-6 victory over Lars Kristiansen and Troy Donato. The victory is the team's second of the season.

Luis Molina Megias (Gran Canaria, Spain/Atlantic School Garoe) evened his singles record at 4-4 after picking up a straight set 6-3, 6-1 win in his No. 2 match against Lucas von der Heyde.

Breer nearly rallied from a one-set deficit to pick up a second singles point in the No. 3 match. After dropping set one 6-2, Breer fought back to take the second 6-4, but then fell in the tiebreak 10-4.

Philadelphia opens Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Saturday, April 2 with a match at Caldwell that is slated for noon.
