PHILADELPHIA – Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) took eighth place to lead the Philadelphia University men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the 36th Annual Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship Saturday afternoon on Belmont Plateau.
The Rams, winners of the event in 2013 and 2014, placed three runners in the top-20 to end the day with 130 points in the 15-team competition.
Philadelphia's fastest runner for the first time this year, Fadale needed 29 minutes, 27.8 seconds to complete the 8-kilometer course.
Jake Wong (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) was the 35th-place finisher as he crossed the finish line in 32:45.0. Eric Przyuski (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) took Philadelphia's final scoring spot after turning in the 52nd-place time of 34:47.0.
Shane Fleming (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) stopped the clock in 35:21.5 to claim 55th.
Franklin Pierce won the team championship with 28 points. Nyack was second with 98, while Bloomfield came in third with a score of 107.
Chestnut Hill's Giancarlo Martines claimed the individual title with a time of 28:01.7.
Philadelphia's next race is the Bill Fritz/Charlie Way Invitational on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2:45 p.m.
