NEW ORLEANS – Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) and Philadelphia University men's cross country were honored for their success in the classroom and on the race course as it earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2015 Division II Men's All-Academic Team recognition.
The team—receiving the award for the fifth time in program history—has a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.267 through the Fall 2015 semester and finished 24th at the NCAA Division II East Region Championship on Nov. 8, 2015. Philadelphia is one of 104 Division II programs to earn the award.
To earn All-Academic Team status, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have five runners score at an NCAA Division II regional meet.
In addition to the team award, Fadale was tabbed to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for having a GPA of at least 3.25 and finishing in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Division II East Region Championship.
Fadale—a first-time recipient of the award—came in 78th out of 189 runners at the East Region Championship and has a cumulative GPA of 3.786.
