Men's cross country comes in 15th in Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Led by a top-10 finish from Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Md./Allegany), the Philadelphia University men's cross country came in 15th place in the Paul Short Run White Race held on Saturday at Lehigh University.

Philadelphia had a team score of 398 points in the 34-team field.

Cendo recorded his second-best 8-kilometer time of the season as he finished Saturday's race with a time of 26 minutes, 39 seconds to come in ninth place overall.

After not running last week, Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) returned to the Philadelphia lineup and posted a career-best time of 27:10, which placed him in 30th.

Zachary Salamonis (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) completed the race with a 28:11 to end up in the 79th position. Jake Wong (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) crossed the finish line with the 125th-place time of 29:34. Shane Fleming claimed the team's final scoring position with a time of 30:48 to end his day in 155th.

Greg Dawson (Springfield, Pa./Friends Central) had a time of 31:32 to come home 164th.

Cortland State won the team title with 87 points. The University of Mary Washington had the runner-up score of 126, while Gettysburg—behind event winner Ben Taber's time of 25:39—was third with 153 points.

Philadelphia will host the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Championship on Belmont Plateau, the Rams' home course, on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1:15 p.m.
