Softball Falls to LIU Post, Defeats Fairmont State in Day One of Florida Trip

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team split its doubleheader on day one of the squad's spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. The Rams fell to LIU Post, 5-0, before taking down Fairmont State, 6-2.

GAME ONE – LIU Post 5, Jefferson 0
LIU Post hit home runs in the first and fifth innings to take a 3-0 advantage before a two-run triple sealed the 5-0 win for the Pioneers.

Stephanie Pepper tossed all 7.0 innings in the loss against LIU Post, striking out five with just one walk.

Kayla Henry-Caltabellotta, Emily Williams and Madison Heno each had hits in the game. Williams' hit came as a double in the bottom of the fourth.

GAME TWO – Jefferson 6, Fairmont State 2
The Rams picked up the win over Fairmont State in game two of the day, 6-2.

Naomi Stas started the game for Jefferson and earned the win.
