KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team (4-4) dropped a pair of contests at the Spring Games on Sunday. The Rams fell to Bemidji State, 10-1 in six innings and lost 4-0 to Concord.
GAME ONE – L, 10-1 (6 inn.) vs. Bemidji State
The Beavers got on the board quickly in the first with a double. They added five in the third due to a two-run homer and a pair of errors. Meanwhile, Jefferson had a baserunner in each of the first five innings but were unable to push a run across. On defense, the Rams were hampered by four errors. Bemidji State increased the lead with four runs in the sixth. Jefferson got on the board in the bottom of the frame as senior Naomi Stas drove in junior Breck Urban with a base hit. However, the Rams could not add any more and succumbed to the eight-run rule. Stas picked up her 200th career strikeout in the pitching circle during the contest.

GAME TWO – L, 4-0 vs. Concord
The Rams' hitters were puzzled by the Mountain Lions as they did not record a hit until the fourth inning. Concord tallied two runs in the third to take the lead. Jefferson had two runners aboard in the fourth but the next batters were retired to end the frame. The Rams had two players on base again in the fifth but failed to capitalize.
The Mountain Lions added to their advantage with a pair of runs in the fifth via two RBI doubles. Jefferson had runners on the corners with one out in the sixth but a pair of groundouts ended the opportunity. The Rams were able to get one runner on in the seventh but came up short of ending the shutout.
