PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team (6-12) dropped two games to visiting West Chester (19-10) on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Rams won 4-1 in the opener and 7-0 in the second contest.
GAME ONE – L, 4-1
West Chester tallied one run in each of the first three innings. The Golden Rams pushed runs across on three RBI singles. Each team recorded a run in the sixth. West Chester had another RBI base hit while Jefferson freshman Winnai Hoyt crossed the plate on a wild pitch. The Rams' recent offensive struggles continued as they totaled just four hits and never had more than one baserunner at a time.
GAME TWO – L, 7-0
The Golden Rams posted one run in the third, two in the fourth and four in the sixth. Jefferson managed four hits. The Rams' best chance for runs came in the third when they loaded the bases with one out. However, a double play thwarted the scoring opportunity.
