PHILADELPHIA – Senior Erin Maher of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) softball team was named to the CoSIDA/Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team on Thursday.
Maher now advances to the Academic All-America ballot. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. A student-athlete must also have completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Maher has a 3.90 GPA in law and society. This season, she batted .375 (45-for-120) with seven doubles, four triples, five RBI and 25 runs in the Rams' lead-off spot. She ranked first on the squad in batting average, hits and triples, tied for first in runs and tied for second in doubles. The senior had 12 multi-hit games. Maher was a CACC All-Academic Team selection.
