Rams Extend their Streak to Six with an 82-52 Statement over Georgian Court

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's basketball team (7-3, 3-1 CACC) took their sixth straight victory at home Thursday night as Georgian Court (0-13, 0-6 CACC) fumbled 82-52. Senior forward Kate Brennan held the top score for the night with 20 points while adding seven boards and four steals. The night marks the 599th career win for head coach Tom Shirley.

Keys to the game were free throws (PhilaU 23-GC's 6), nine of which belonging to PhilaU sophomore forward Kristen Blye who shot 90% from the line.

At the end of the first half, PhilaU went into the locker room holding the lead at 50-28. Their biggest lead, 32 would come in the final minutes of the second half with an offensive rebound followed by a field goal from rookie guard  Samantha Morris.

By the end of the game, senior guard Stephanie Agger had notched 18 points while junior forward/center Christine Wooding and Kristen Blye matched each other with 13. Senior guard Taylor Magnus led the matchup from three-point range shooting 2-3.

PhilaU shot 49.1% from the field over GC's 36.7%. Beyond the arc the Rams held 37.5% against GC's 20%.  

Coach Shirley will get his first shot at win #600 as PhilaU hits the road this Saturday (1/8) to take on Felician College in a CACC battle at 1:00 p.m.
