NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the third time this season Philadelphia University center Christine Wooding was tabbed as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball player of the week by the conference office on Monday.
Wooding, who earned the honor in back-to-back weeks to open the season (11/14, 11/21), averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds and shot 62.5 (15-of-24) in two Lady Ram wins. She had 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in Philadelphia's 69-57 triumph over Holy Family. Against Post, Wooding had 25 points and nine boards.
Wooding is second in the conference in blocks (35) and rebounding average (11.5), third in free throw percentage (84.2), fourth in field goal percentage (52.6) and fifth in scoring average (17.5). Nationally, she is sixth with eight double-doubles, 10th in rebounding average and 15th in blocks.
Philadelphia (10-4, 5-1 CACC) travels to Georgian Court University for a CACC showdown Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. The Lady Rams defeated the Lions, 71-53, on Dec. 6 in Philadelphia.
