Women’s basketball sit in 10th in NCAA Division II East Region Rankings

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's basketball team is tenth in the first set of NCAA Division II East Region Rankings that the NCAA released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Rams are the only team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) to appear in the rankings. Philadelphia has an overall record, and in-region record, of 19-6 and is 13-3 against the CACC.

Bentley, one of five Northeast-10 teams in the rankings, sits atop the East region with an overall and region record of 21-3. Southern Connecticut (19-4 overall, 18-4 in-region), Dowling (17-5, 17-5), Pace (17-6, 17-6) and District of Columbia (18-4, 18-4) are second through fifth, respectively.

C.W. Post (17-8, 17-8), who Philadelphia defeated in the season opener, sits in the coveted eighth spot as the top eight teams in the region rankings on March 4 make the NCAA Tournament.

Philadelphia returns to action against the University of the Sciences Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Gallagher Center at 6 p.m.
