NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University sophomore guard Jessica Kaminski (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) took home the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) defensive player of the week award Monday.
In Philadelphia's 57-48 victory over Bloomsburg on Nov. 27, Kaminski tied her career high of seven steals and grabbed one defensive rebound. It was her first seven-steal game since Jan. 11, 2016, a 72-63 win at Caldwell. Kaminski opened the week with a career-best 10 defensive rebounds, one block, and one steal in a 78-66 loss to East Stroudsburg on Nov. 22.
Through six games, Kaminski is leading the Rams in scoring (13.3 points per game), rebounding (10.0 per game), assists (16), and steals (12). In the CACC, she sits first in minutes per game (39.0) and made free throws (38), fourth in rebounding, seventh in steals, and 10th in scoring and assists.
Philadelphia (3-3, 0-1 CACC) welcomes the University of the Sciences to the Gallagher Center for a CACC clash on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
