Women’s Basketball 4-0 After Defeating Lincoln on Saturday, 61-52

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's basketball team handed the Lincoln Lions (Pa.) a Saturday afternoon loss from the Gallagher Center by a final of 61-52. The win keeps the Rams perfect in the young season.

Senior Rachel Day led Jefferson with 16 points including three made three-pointers.

Junior Beverly Kum and redshirt junior Jessica Kaminski each added 12 points in the win. Kaminski also grabbed a team-high 10 boards for a double-double.

The Rams led the game wire-to-wire.

Jefferson stormed out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter. Day and Kum combined for nine of those points as the Rams held the Lions to 22.2% shooting in the first.

Lincoln outscored Jefferson 15-13 in the second as the Rams took a six-point lead, 29-23, into the break.

Kaminski scored seven of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to help lead Jefferson to the victory.

Lincoln's Michelle Fitzgerald recorded game-highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lions.

Jefferson Women's Basketball returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at home from the Gallagher Center against Shippensburg at 6 p.m.
