Women's Basketball Picked Second in South Division in CACC Preseason Coaches Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team was selected to finish second in the South Division in the 2019-20 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Preseason Coaches Poll. The news was announced by the CACC on Tuesday.

The Rams received 77 points in the voting, including four first-place votes. USciences was the favorite among the conference coaches, garnering nine first-place votes and 87 points. Goldey-Beacom picked up one first-place vote.

In the North Division, Dominican (N.Y.) was the top pick with 85 points and 10 first-place nods. Caldwell (70 points) and Post (69 points) each received two first-place selections.

Last season, Jefferson captured its third CACC title with a 74-73 overtime victory over USciences. The Rams posted a school-record total for wins, ending the campaign with a 29-3 mark. The squad made its 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, falling in the first round of the East Regional to Stonehill.

The 2019-20 season opens versus Queens (N.Y.) on Saturday, November 9.
