Jefferson Women’s Golf: 2017-18 Season in Review

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's golf team completed its inaugural season in 2017-18.

The Rams played in a total of nine matches with three in the fall and six in the spring. Jefferson's inaugural match came at the Rams' home course, The ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pa., in a 367-408 loss to Alvernia on Sept. 8, 2017. But the squad followed its up with a tri-match victory over Arcadia and Franklin & Marshall on Sept. 23, 2017.

Jefferson went on to win the six-team Scotland Run Shootout from the Scotland Run Golf Course in Williamstown, N.J. on March 31, 2018 and the three-team tri-match against Ursinus and Widener from Patriots Glen National Golf Course in Elkton, Md. In the team's second to last match of the year, the Rams defeated Adelphi and Goucher in a tri-match from The ACE Club on April 22, 2018 for their fourth win of the campaign.

Freshman Kinley Lingenfelter turned in the top score for the Rams in each of the nine rounds. She earned medalist honors in six of those matches, finishing in the top-10 for all of them. Lingenfelter finished the season with an 81.3 scoring average with four of nine rounds in the 70s.
