Rookies Lead PhilaU WLax to 19-6 Win at Post

Waterbury, CT- The Philadelphia University lacrosse team (1-1, 1-0 CACC) picked up their first win in a 19-6 victory over Post University (1-2, 0-1 CACC) on Sunday afternoon.

PhilaU was led offensively by rookie Emily Ray who had five goals on the day.

The Rams fell behind 3-1 early in the contest, as Post's Stephanie Murran notched two quick goals.  However, PhilaU went on to score eight-count them- unanswered goals to close out the half, including a couple from Ray.  PhilaU led 9-3 at the break.

In the second period, PhilaU's Nicole Lijana put in two of her four total goals on the day to keep the visitors ahead.  The Rams also got two scores from another rookie- Carli DiCioccio

PhilaU freshman goalie Cory Lombardo played all 60 minutes in goal and made seven saves. 

The Rams follow up with a Thursday (3/17) home-opener at 3:30 p.m. at Ravenhill Field.
