Mower, Parent recognized by CACC

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University women's lacrosse midfielders Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and Katie Parent (Millville, N.J./Millville) were honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for their play last week on Monday. Mower was selected as the CACC player of the week, while Parent award the CACC defensive player of the week award.

The CACC player of the week for the third consecutive week, Mower led the Rams with 11 goals and four assists in a 2-0 week against conference competition.

She started the week by tying her career high of seven goals for the second straight match and dished out two assists in a 13-8 victory over Holy Family on April 6. During the victory, Mower became the school's all-time point leader, picking up her 267th career point on a goal with 18:37 left in the match. Mower came back against Nyack on April 9 to record four goals and two assists in an 18-6 triumph.

Mower—who has at least two points in each of the last eight contests—is the CACC leader in goals (39) and free-position goals (16), second in points (55), and third in assists (16).

Parent was the team leader with 13 ground balls and three caused turnovers. She racked up a season-high eight ground balls and caused two turnovers in the win over the Tigers. Parent tallied a team-high five ground balls and a caused turnover versus Nyack—who was held to eight shots.

In the CACC, Parent is sitting second in caused turnovers (18), third in ground balls (34), and seventh in draw controls (30).

Philadelphia (6-4, 4-0 CACC) puts its five-match winning streak on the line when the team heads to Caldwell for a CACC contest on Wednesday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
