Women’s Lacrosse Falls on the Road to No. 15 West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (0-2) fell to the No. 15 West Chester Golden Rams (2-0) on the road at Vinnie Gros Field in West Chester, Pa. on Thursday by a final score of 24-1.

Sophomore Sarah von Lange scored the lone Jefferson goal in the contest with 19:46 to play in the first half to make it 9-1. It came as the Marriottsville, Maryland native's second goal of the campaign. Freshman Camryn Sullivan tallied an assist on the play, her third of the young season.

West Chester started the midweek affair on a 9-0 run and finished the game with a 15-0 stretch.

Junior Chanel D'Angelo scooped up four groundballs to lead the Rams.

Senior captain Liz Wissmann caused two turnovers defensively.

Fellow senior Samantha Ryder won four draw controls while sophomore Erin Eckert had three.

Jefferson Women's Lacrosse is set for its home opener on Saturday, March 3 at noon from Ravenhill Field as the Rams take on Bloomsburg, their third-straight game against a PSAC school to begin the season.
