Women’s Lacrosse Downs Dominican for Fourth-Straight CACC Win, 25-11

HILLBURN, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (7-7, 6-1 CACC) captured its fourth-straight victory on Tuesday with a conference road win at Dominican (N.Y.) from Hillburn, N.Y.

Jefferson has outscored its opponents 91-31 over its four-game winning streak.

GAMEPLAY
After trailing 7-4 midway through the first half, the Rams scored 11 unanswered goals to take a 15-7 advantage. Jefferson led 16-10 at halftime.

The Rams took a 10-goal advantage after scoring the first four to start the second half, 20-10. Freshman Erin Campbell was issued her second yellow card of the day with 21:28 remaining in the contest, forcing the Rams to play a player down.

Dominican got one back midway through the final period on a man-up opportunity to take the edge down to nine, 20-11, before Jefferson closed the final 14:26 minutes with five more goals to win 25-11.

GOALS, POINTS, ASSISTS
Sophomore Sarah von Lange led Jefferson with a game-high eight points behind six goals and two assists.

Freshman Camryn Sullivan, this week's CACC Rookie of the Week, also notched six goals on the day and tallied an assist for seven points.

Senior Samantha Ryder scored four goals while fellow senior Kathryn Avanzato recorded five points with three goals and two assists.

Sophomore Erin Eckert and freshman Teagan Hay botched tallied two goals and an assist for three-point performances.

Junior Laura Dunne had four points, three assists and one goal in the win.

Sophomore Ashley Lamey accounted for one goal while freshman Lauren Najarian and freshman Erin Campbell each dished out one assist.

GAINING CONTROL
Ryder won a game-high nine draw controls and now has 72 on the year. Campbell and von Lange each had five on the day. Jefferson won the draw control battle, 24-14.

11 different Rams had groundballs on the day including a game-high of five from Avanzato.

Sophomore Victoria Raimondi, this week's CACC Defensive Player of the Week, earned another win in goal to improve to 7-5 on the campaign as she made a season-high 14 saves.

Jefferson hosts its final regular-season home game of the year on Thursday, April 19 at 4:30 p.m. from Ravenhill Field as the Rams welcome Dominican. Thursday will also be Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Day.
