Women's Lacrosse Suffers Setback Versus Seton Hill

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (0-3) suffered a 15-4 loss to Seton Hill (2-3) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Griffins jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the first 10 minutes of the contest. Junior Erin Eckert put the Rams on the board at the 19:12 mark with a free-position goal. Seton Hill followed with seven straight goals to lead 11-1 at halftime.

Junior Sarah von Lange opened the scoring in the second half. After two tallies by the Griffins, sophomore Erin Campbell hit the back of the net at 9:57. Campbell picked up her second marker at 4:35 to make it 14-4 before Seton Hill posted the final goal with 18 seconds left.

Campbell led Jefferson with seven shots, four of them on goal. Senior Chanel D'Angelo picked up a game-high seven ground balls and caused two turnovers. Freshman Jen Spencer also had two caused turnovers. Campbell and Eckert each controlled four draws.

Freshmen goalkeepers Kelsey Kaplowitz and Melanie Goldstein stopped six and two shots in 51:41 and 8:19 respectively.
