Women's Lacrosse Has Win Streak Stopped by NYIT

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse team (4-4) had its four-game win streak come to an end with a 16-4 loss at NYIT (7-3) on Wednesday.

GAMEPLAY
The two teams traded goals to start and it was 1-1 after the first six minutes. At 23:39, the Bears started a stretch of seven consecutive goals to take an 8-1 lead with 9:32 to go. Sophomore Camryn Sullivan (8:31) and junior Sarah von Lange (6:14) each tallied to get the Rams within five (8-3) at halftime.

NYIT tightened its defense further in the second period, outscoring Jefferson 8-1 in the half. The Rams' only goal came on a free position shot by junior Erin Eckert with 21:43 on the clock. The Bears limited Jefferson to just five shots and three clears in the stanza.
