Campbell Named CACC Defensive Player of the Year, Three Chosen To All-CACC Women's Lacrosse Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's lacrosse players were selected to the All-CACC Team on Tuesday. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Sophomore Erin Campbell was tabbed the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and was joined on the All-CACC first team by junior Sarah von Lange. Senior Chanel D'Angelo was a member of the All-CACC second team.

ERIN CAMPBELL – CACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM
It is the second straight All-Conference selection for Campbell after being named to the second team in 2018. She is first on the Rams in ground balls (60) and caused turnovers (35) and second in draw controls (56). The sophomore has also tallied 10 goals and five assists for 15 points in 14 games.

Campbell ended the regular season ranked first in the conference in caused turnovers, second in ground balls and tied for 12th in draw controls. She has recorded season highs of seven ground balls (twice), eight draw controls and five caused turnovers (twice). Campbell has earned CACC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times this season.

SARAH VON LANGE – ALL-CACC FIRST TEAM
An All-Conference first team honoree for the second year in a row, von Lange leads Jefferson in goals (50), points (63) and draw controls (68). She is also second with 42 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers and tied for third with 13 assists. In the CACC, von Lange ranks eighth in goals, tied for eighth in points, tied for ninth in draw controls, tied for 10th in ground balls and tied for 14th in assists and caused turnovers.

The junior has posted season highs of eight goals, three assists, 11 points, six ground balls (twice), seven draw controls (three times) and two caused turnovers (six times). She was chosen the CACC Player of the Week on April 8 and to the weekly honor roll three times.

CHANEL D'ANGELO – ALL-CACC SECOND TEAM
D'Angelo is an All-Conference selection for the second consecutive year after garnering first team honors in 2018. She anchors a Jefferson defense that ranks first in the CACC in goals against (131) and second in caused turnovers (154). The senior has tallied 28 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers, which are fourth and tied for third on the team respectively. D'Angelo has recorded season highs of seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
