DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team (0-3) suffered a 13-9 loss at 11th-ranked Mercy (3-0) on Wednesday.
The Mavericks opened the scoring over three minutes into the contest. The Rams then netted two in a row to take the lead. Junior Erin Campbell set up senior Erin Eckert (25:51) and senior Sarah von Lange converted on a free position attempt (25:39). However, Mercy showed why they are ranked among the top teams in Division II, responding with five straight goals to go ahead 6-2 with 8:01 left in the half. Campbell and von Lange hit the back of the net to get Jefferson within two but the Mavericks tallied two of the last three markers for a three-goal advantage at halftime (8-5). Mercy pulled away in the second half, potting five in a row to make the score 13-5 with 12:29 on the clock. The Rams tried to put together a rally, scoring the final four tallies, but ran out of time.
- Jefferson was 18-for-22 on clear attempts.
- Sullivan recorded her 100th career point.
The Rams play Bridgeport at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Wednesday, March 11 at 3 p.m.
